Leeds Mentoring achieve national recognition for their mentoring programme

Leeds Mentoring was one of the first organisations in the country to be awarded the Mentoring and Befriending Foundations "Approved Provider" Standard. This is a quality standard for organisations providing one-to-one, volunteer mentoring. It is a national benchmark awarded and supported by the Home Office and Department for Education and Skills.

Leeds Monitoring quality assurance framework ensures the consistency and quality of mentoring programmes by sharing and guaranteeing best practice in such areas as recruitment, induction, preparation of mentees and the preparation and training of mentors.

Annual awards evening

Each year 4000 young people in Leeds' schools and colleges benefit from the support of volunteer mentors. The Leeds Mentoring "Celebrating Success Mentoring " awards evening hosted by the Lord Mayor of Leeds in the Civic Hall is held to recognise the time and effort they provide.

The Lord Mayor of Leeds presents special awards and certificates of thanks to Mentors, Companies, School/College mentor coordinators, University Mentors and Mentees who have benefited from support.
