We want to provide an education system that is about success and high-achievement for all and we need to think differently about how we achieve it. We know that learning is the key to health, wealth and happiness and that people make the difference.

All of us who care passionately about the future of this city can help us make a difference. There are many strands and strategies, which make up our overall approach to raising achievement for our children and young people. Mentoring is one of these strategies. We are using it across the city to make that difference; to give some of our young people a critical friend who will support, encourage and challenge; to give our young people an extra opportunity and the extra time to achieve success..
